Assistive technology (AT) is a term that refers to products, equipment, and systems that help people with disabilities, to do things they might not otherwise be able to do. AT can help people live more independently, participate in education and the workforce, and improve their well-being. Examples of AT include: Physical products: Wheelchairs, glasses, hearing aids, white canes, and prosthetic limbs Digital solutions: Speech recognition, captioning, and time management software Other examples: Paint to help with wayfinding, homemade grips, and speech generating devices
